This document is to be used as a general guideline for building Pharmacy areas within Safeway stores.
All workmanship and installation procedures regarding materials, equipment and/or products shown or
listed in ALL criteria documents and/or shown on the drawings must follow published industry standards
unless specified and/or detailed differently to a higher standard. Failure to comply with the published or
detailed workmanship or installation procedures will result in the installer removing defective
workmanship/installations and/or replacing/repairing all non-complying work and surrounding and/or
installed Work by others at own cost. Examples: straight and aligned electrical and data outlets, floor and
wall tile that is level and flush, no broken or cracked tiles, no gaps, blemishes or inferior materials.
The intent of the drawings and specifications is to modify the facility for accessibility in accordance with
the current Title 24, California Code of Regulation or the IBC. Should any conditions develop not covered
by the contract documents such that the finished work will not comply with said Title 24, California Code
of Regulations, or the IBC, a change order detailing and specifying the required work shall be submitted
to and approved by Safeway, inc before proceeding with the work.

• Consultation Room 2 will have 100 CFM supply air.
• For Consultation Room 2 Supply Air diffuser use a Metalaire model 5750 (steel 24"x24") grille and
paint to match ceiling. Mechanical Engineer/Contractor to provide specific configuration.
• Consultation Room 2 doors provided with undercut for exhaust return air.
Plumbing Design Guidelines:
Plumbing fixtures are not a part of the Consultation Room 2 Retrofit work. If the retrofit for the Cosultation
Room 2 affects the existing plumbing system, then refer to Pharmacy Criteria Plumbing Design guidelines
for general Plumbing construction requirements.
Electrical Design Guidelines:
Refer to Pharmacy Criteria Electrical Design guidelines for general Electrical construction requirements.

• All sprinkler piping shall run concealed. Factory white covers and escutcheons, do not paint
• Sprinkler pendent heads& covers: Viking Mirage Standard, model #VK462 or equal, concealed
pendent and cover plate assemblies ordinary temp., UL approved for extended coverage,
ordinary hazard, color: factory white. See technical data sheet
