As previously requested in our email below, we would like to receive the City’s confirmation that a 10 foot setback of storm water management improvements from the proposed structures is acceptable (as supported by the attached document). We would also like the City to provide input if it is acceptable to discharge storm water runoff from catch basins directly to the subsurface infiltration galleries (without using StormFilter units) based on the geotechnical engineers statement that the soil characteristics are suitable for removing targeted pollutants without pretreatment. The confirmation of both of our requests is important for us to be able to move forward and address the City comments we’ve received to date. Please let me know if you have any comments or questions. I wanted to give both of you a quick update regarding the Salmon Run development. The geotechnical engineer (Terra Associates) for the project has finished their supplemental analysis based on the current site conditions and the revised storm water management system. The verbal feedback we’ve received from Terra Associates indicates the subject site and associated storm water management system meet the Site Suitability Criteria outlined in the 2005 DOE Manual, including SSC-1 regarding the setback criteria. As previously noted, we understand the setback criteria provided in the 2005 DOE Manual (SSC-1) are provided as guidance (not requirements). The supplemental geotechnical analysis prepared by Terra Associates supports the 10 foot setback of storm water management improvements from the proposed structures. Based on the email Tami previously sent dated November 1, 2010, we understand the City has also allowed the 20 foot setback to be reduced to 10 feet. We will forward the supplemental geotechnical report to you upon receipt (hopefully by next Tuesday, May 24th). After you review the supplemental geotechnical report, we would like to receive the City’s confirmation that the 10 foot setback is acceptable. This confirmation is critical for us moving forward and addressing the City comments we’ve received to date. I am available at your convenience if you would like to discuss this in more detail.
