This letter is in response to your plan check comments sent via a-mail on 4/1/11. Your comments are
listed below with the corresponding response. Some of the comments refer to our phone conversation
on 4/5/11. Also attached via a-mail are revisions to the original drawings submitted. These are in PDF
form and are listed at the end of this document.
Plan Review ACU
1. A1.1 Note 5 -Need demo permit from Olympic Region Clean Air Agency (ORCAA)
a. See note on revised sheet A1.1. The general contractor will obtain all necessary permits
prior to demolition of any existing structures.
2. A1.1 Note 8 and 9 may need ORCAA permits also
a. So noted. (see response to item #1)
3. A1.2 Detail 3 note cmu wall height should be 6 feet
a. See revised sheet A1.2 for revised trash enclosure details.
4. A3.1 Door #13 see notes on A5.1
a. See revised sheet A5.1 for revised note regarding hardware. The door will open freely at
all times from Hall #113 into Lobby #106 "without special key or knowledge."
5. A4.1 Cut section C-verify truss loads and seismic restraint of TV's
a. Per phone call, these TV's are flat screen monitors that weigh no more than typical
artwork and create no additional structural loads.
6. A4.3 Cut section H-verify access for hot water tank
a. See revised note on sheet A4.3 describing access to this space.
7. A5.1 Verify access control doors meet IBC 1008.1.4.4 and if key operated state "This door to
remain unlocked when building is occupied"
a. See sheet A5.1 for revised note regarding hardware. The door will open freely at all
times from Hall #113 into Lobby #106 "without special key or knowledge."
8. A6.1 105 toilet room (typ) should say "max ht. of mirror bot. edge of reflective surface"
a. See revised note on sheet A6.1.
9. A6.2 117 break room sink height 2'-10" max.

10. 51.1 FYI Simpson has reduced the hold down values for Seismic D, E and F in the 2011-2012
catalog.
a. See revised Structural sheets 51.1. The STHD14 hold downs have been omitted. HDUS's
are used in their place.
11. P1.1 Note future 3 compartment sink will need floor sink.
a. Per phone call, this is future work that will be approved under a separate permit.
12. P1.1 H2O tank in mechanical room. Where does drain and pressure relief valve drain to. Also
note location difference on M2.
a. See revised sheet P1.1 for note regarding hot water tank drain.
13. P1.2 Verify inlet elevation of step tanks. Fall of less than 2% may require waste line upsizing .
a. This information is in the civil engineer's design. Do you have access to those plans for
review?
14. E1.1 Need site illumination plan
a. The site illumination analysis is pending. I will submit that when I have it.
15. E1.2 Verify emergency lighting
a. See revised sheet E1.2 for exit signs and emergency lights.
16. E1.2 Verify exterior lighting type H are mounted at 80 inches above accessible paths
a. See sheet A2.1 for exterior light fixture mounting height.
17. E1.3 Coordinate backing in walls for TV's
a. See sheet A3.3 for note regarding backing.
18. General notes ; Verify submitted energy work sheets meet the requirements of the 2009 WEC
