Essentially every other pole will be replaced with a taller pole. The existing distribution poles are about 40 ft tall. The new transmission poles are about 80 ft tall. The distribution lines will remain at the same vertical location, and new transmission lines will be added above those. We string the transmission lines tighter than the distribution lines so they can span greater distances. Also, the distribution lines are the ones that provide local services so there are needs for pole top transformers and service drops quite frequently. So approximately every other existing distribution pole will replaced with a taller transmission pole. When we conduct the work, we may also replace distribution poles with new distribution poles depending on the age and condition of the existing poles. I hope that this isn't too confusing. I'll look into and let you know of an existing system in the Yelm area that adequately represents what we are proposing to do. Let me know if you have any other questions. Also, I assume that the first public comment period is over now, any insights regarding general public opinion of the proposed project at this time? If you are adding transmission lines, above existing, do you need to replace the poles?
