AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF YELM ORDINANCE 656,(7/24/99)
ENACTING A SIX MONTH MORATORIUM FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF
APPLICATIONS FOR ANQ/R ISSUANCE OF ANY PERMIT OR
APPROVAL E� OR TELF,COMMI TNICATIONC FACIT .ITIFC
BY EXTENDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE THROUGH SEPTEMBER 8, 1999.
WHEREAS, City Council determined the need for a moratorium on telecommunications
permits and approvals at duly advertised public hearing conducted on February 24, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the determination and adoption of ordinance 656 was based upon and
supported by Findings of Fact; and
WHEREAS, final adoption of the City of Yelm's Telecommunications Ordinance (No.
666) has been moved to the August 25, 1999 meeting to allow staff the opportunity to investigate
and address concerns voiced during a duly advertised public hearing held on the July 28, 1999;
and
WHEREAS, City Council finds that it is in the best interests of the City to extend the
moratorium to the effective date of the Telecommunications Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. The six -month moratorium established in Ordinance 656 with an effective date of
February 24, 1999 will expire on August 24, 1999.
Section 2. The moratorium expiration established in Ordinance 656 shall be extended
through September 8, 1999.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective five days following
publication as prescribed by law.
