ORDINANCE NO.673
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF YELM AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 353 by amending
Chapter 15.32, Flood Damage Prevention of the Yelm Municipal Code. The amendment adopts the
most recent Flood Insurance Study and Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM).
WHEREAS, on September 29, 1999, pursuant to notice duly given, a public hearing was held and
findings were duly made pursuant to RCW 35.63A.070; and
NOW, THEREFORE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM ORDAINS THAT CHAPTER 15.32 OF THE YELM
MUNICIPAL CODE SHALL BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 15.32.060 Basis for establishing the areas of special flood hazard shall be
amended to read as follows:
The areas of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Insurance Administration in-the
eity of Yelm "Flood I lazard Boundary Map" dated Oetober 22, 1 99 766, , a scientific and
engineering report entitled "The Flood Insurance Study for the City of Yelm, Washington
Thurston County " dated June 161999 as amended, with an accompanying Flood Insurance
Rate Maw as amended, are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this
chapter. The Flood Insurance Study is on file at Yeim City Hall,
105 Yelm Avenue West, Yelm, Washington. The best available information for flood hazard
are identification as outline in Section 15.32.1400 shall be the basis for regulation until a
new FIRM is issued which incorporates the data utilized under Section 15.32.140
Section 2. Severability. If any provisions of this ordinance or its application to any person or
circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance or the application of the provisions to
other persons or circumstances is not affected.
_Section _3._Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
