ORDINANCE NO. 683
AN ORDINANCE setting new monthly service rates for sewer customers and repealing
and replacing Section 1, of Ordinance No. 644 (12- 19 -98) and Municipal Code Section
13.08.095, C & D.
WHEREAS, the Sewer/Water Reuse Department is required by statute to be self- supporting; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to periodically review and adjust charges necessary to provide and maintain the
sewer and water reuse systems; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to adjust rates to provide repayment for debt incurred for capital improvements to
the systems; and
WHEREAS, a duly advertised public hearing has been held to consider this rate increase;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Yelm do ordain as follows:
Section 1. Repealer. Ordinance No. 644 Section 1, and Municipal Code Section 13.08.095, C, & D is hereby
repealed,

Sewer Rates and Structure. The sewer rate for the City of Yelm is hereby established per the rates identified in
Table 2. There shall be an additional charge of $.0389 per cubic foot for flow in excess of 900 cubic feet per month
for "commercial /industrial" sewer service.

Payment of Sewer Bills. The rates, fees and /or charges shall be due and payable at the office of the
Clerk /Treasurer for the City of Yelm, on the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following use of Yelm's sewer system.
Any payments not paid as specified herein, shall be considered delinquent.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance will take effect December 31, 1999.
Section 3. Saving Clause. Section 1, Table 2, of Ordinance No. 644 and Yelm Municipal Code 13.08.095, C & D
shall remain in force and effect until the effective date of this ordinance.
Section 4. Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is
declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
of this ordinance.
Passed by the Yelm City Council at a regular meeting thereof this 23`d day of November, 1999.
