July 16: Inspector Mark Robinson on site, 12:30 pm, for inspection of forms and reinforced concrete
placement. Partly cloudy, 63 degrees.
Contractor places concrete for the exterior continuous foundation walls grid line E (4.5) east to
9.2 (C.2); and SW elevator foundation slab. All areas approved for concrete per structural notes
on sheet S1.0, plan notes schedules on sheet S1.1A, shear wall anchor schedule and elevator
detail 14 on sheet SD.1.
Concrete is placed by truck chute at a 4.5” slump and is vibrated for consolidation. One set of
compressive strength test specimens is made on the placement of 9 yards and is stored in the field
away from the work area for pickup tomorrow. See Report of Concrete Test Specimens for
further details on today’s placement.
Inspector reviews plan notes and thickened footing details in preparation for tomorrow’s floor
slab placement north of line H. At this time the vapor barrier is in place, taped and sealed and
envelopes the foundation wall. Reinforcing placement approximately 85% complete. All
completed areas appear well constructed and ready for concrete.
July 18: Inspector Mark Robinson on site, 6:30 am, for inspection of forms and reinforced concrete
placement. Sunny, 52 degrees.
Contractor places concrete for the floor slab north of grid line H. Graded at 4” uniform depth.
The #3 reinforcing bar is in place at 18” on center each way and supported mid-way in slab.
Thickened wall footings and pads in place, sized and reinforced per schedules on sheet SD.1.
Vapor barrier in place with all edges and mechanical penetrations taped and sealed, and placed to
envelope foundation wall. All subgrade conditions are again well prepared.
Concrete is placed by pump at a 5” maximum slump and is vibrated for consolidation in thickened
wall footing areas. Two sets of compressive strength test specimens are made on the placement of
85.5 yards and are stored in the field away from the work area for pickup tomorrow. See Report
of Concrete Test Specimens for further details on today’s placement.
