330 Punchcard TaxationORDINANCE NO. 330 AN AMENDATORY ORDINANCE providing for the regulation and taxation of punchboards and pull tabs operated or patron- ized within the town limits of the Town of Yelm, Washington, reducing the rate of tax applicable thereto; amending the provisions of Ordinance No. 182, Section 2, 1975, and Yelm Municipal_ Code Section No. 3.40.020; and providing an effec- tive date. BE IT ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF YELM, THURSTON COUNTY, WASHINGTON, as follows: Section 1. Levy Rate. Section 2 of Ordinance No 182 (1975) of the Town of Yelm, and Yelm Municipal Code Section No. 3.40.020, should be and hereby are each amended to read as follows: There is hereby levied upon all persons, associations, and organizations conducting or operating within this juris- diction any of the activities listed below, at tax in the following amounts to be paid to the Town: A. Bingo. In the amount of the gross receipts therefrom, less the amount of money paid in cash, and paid for merchandise, actually awarded as prizes during the taxable period, multi- plied by the rate of ten percent (10 /); B. Raffles. In the amount of the gross receipts there- from, less the amount of money paid in cash, and paid for merchandise, actually awarded as prizes during the taxable period, multiplied by the rate of ten percent (10 %); C. Amusement Games. In the amount of the gross receipts therefrom, less the amount of money paid in cash, and paid for merchandise, actually awarded as prizes during the taxable period, multiplied by the rate of ten percent (10 %); D. Fishing Derbies. In the amount of the gross receipts therefrom, less the amount of money paid in cash, and paid for merchandise, actually awarded as prizes during the taxable period, multiplied by the rate of five percent (5/); E. Punchboards and Pull Tabs. In the amount of the gross receipts from the operation, use, or patronage of the punchboards or pull tabs themselves, multiplied by the rate of three per- cent (3/); F. Card Playing. In the amount of the gross receipts received as fees charged persons for the privilege of playing in card games, multiplied by the rate of ten percent (10 %). Section 2. Effective Date. This Ordinance and the amend- ments enacted thereby shall be effective on and after April 1, 1987. Section 3. Severability. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance, or its applica- tion to any person or circumstance be declared unconstitution- al or otherwise declared or adjudged invalid for any reason, such decision shall not be construed to affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance or its application to other persons or circumstances.
