5. The ore. to be cleared and graded must be flagged and then Inspected and approved by the Olympic Pipe Line
Company Inspector prior to beginning any work on the site.

CLEARING AND GRADING NOTES:
1. UPON COMPLETION OF VALVE INSTALLATION, FILL SHALL CONSIST OF THE NATIVE MATERIAL REMOVED
FROM THE EXCAVATION. COMPACTION OF THE FILL MATERIAL WILL BE CONSISTENT WITH THE
SURROUNDING AREA. THE FILL AREAS ARE NOT INTENDED TO SUPPORT STRUCTURES.
2. CUT AND FILL SHALL NOT ENDANGER OR DISTURB ADJOINING PROPERTY.
3. STRIPPING OF VEGETATION, GRADING OR OTHER SOIL DISTURBANCE SHALL BE DONE IN A MANNER
THAT WILL MINIMIZE SOIL EROSION, STABILIZE THE SOIL AS QUICKLY AS PRACTICABLE, AND EXPOSE
THE SMALLEST PRACTICAL AREA AT ANY TIME DURING CONSTRUCTION.
4. THE PROPOSED GRADE OF ACCESS AND VALVE PAD WILL BE SEVERAL INCHES ABOVE EXISTING
GRADE SO THAT PRECIPITATION DOES NOT POND ON THE NEW SURFACE.
5, WHENEVER FEASIBLE, NATURAL VEGETATION SHALL BE RETAINED, PROTECTED OR RESTORED.
6. PERMANENT PLANTING EROSION CONTROL AND DRAINAGE MEASURES SHALL BE INSTALLED AS SOON
AS PRACTICAL.
7. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL DEVICES SHALL BE REQUIRED WHERE NECESSARY TO PREVENT
POLLUTING DISCHARGES FROM OCCURRING.
8. DISPOSED SPOIL MATERIAL OR STOCKPILED TOPSOIL SHALL BE PREVENTED FROM ERODING INTO
STORMWATER PONDS BY APPLYING MULCH OR OTHER PROTECTIVE COVERING; OR BY LOCATION AT A
SUFFICIENT DISTANCE FROM DRAINAGEWAYS; OR BY OTHER SEDIMENT REDUCTION MEASURES.
9. NON - EROSION POLLUTION ASSOCIATED WITH CONSTRUCTION SUCH AS PETROCHEMICALS, SOLID
WASTES, OR WASTEWATERS SHALL BE PREVENTED FROM LEAVING THE CONSTRUCTION SITE
THROUGH PROPER HANDLING, DISPOSAL, CONTINUOUS SITE MONITORING AND CLEAN -UP ACTIVITIES.
10. NO TREES WILL BE REMOVED DURING ACCESS OR EXCAVATION ACTIVITIES.
ACCESS ROAD CONSTRUCTION NOTES'.
1, UPON FINAL BACKFILL AND SITE GRADING, AN ACCESS ROAD SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED EXTENDING
SOUTH FROM 91st AVENUE SE TO THE VALVE SITE
2. THE ACCESS ROAD SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED BY PLACING A GEOTEXTILE FABRIC (MIRAFI 50OX OR
EQUIVALENT) OVER THE SUBGRADE SOILS ALONG THE ACCESS ROAD,
3. THE ACCESS ROAD SECTION AND VALVE PAD SHOULD CONSIST OF 6 -TO 8- INCHES OF CRUSHED
314 -INCH MINUS SURFACING BASE COURSE OVER THE GEOTEXTILE FABRIC.
4. THE BASE COURSE FILL SHOULD BE MECHANICALLY COMPACTED TO ACHIEVE AT LEAST 90 PERCENT
OF THE MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY (MDD) IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM D1557.
5. FINAL SITE GRADING MUST DIRECT DRAINAGE AWAY FROM ALL BUILDING STRUCTURES AT A MINIMUM
2% SLOPE, PER THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE. LEVEL SITE GRADE & DIRECT DRAINAGE AWAY FROM
VALVE PEDESTAL AT 2% SLOPE.
BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES NOTES:
1. TEMPORARY SOIL STOCKPILE WILL BE COVERED WITH PLASTIC SHEETING AT THE END OF EACH DAY IF
INCLEMENT WEATHER IS PREDICTED.
2. 91st AVENUE BE WILL BE SWEPT DAILY IF TRUCK TIRES TRACK SOIL ONTO THE ROAD FROM THE SITE.
