THREADED CONNECTION—SpearsManufacturing Company recommends the use of SpearsBLUE 75TM'Thread Sealant. This product has been tested
by Spearsand the sealant manufacturer for compatibility with the SpearsCPVC fire sprinkler products.Consult the sprinkler head manufacturer before using
this product.WARNING:OTHER PIPE JOINT COMPOUNDS OR PASTES MAY CONTAIN SUBSTANCES THAT COULD CAUSE STRESS CRACKING IN
THE CPVC OR OTHER FITfING COMPONENTS.Care must be taken to avoid over torquing-generally 1 to 2 turns beyond finger tight is all that is required
to make up a threaded connection.Factory testing has indcated 1-25 ft.Ibs.of torque is adequate to obtain a leak free seal.
GASKET SEALED THREAD CONNECTIONS—This type of connection can only be matle with SpearsTorqueSafeT"" style Gasket Sealed Female Sprinkler

• Larger size risers available on special order.
NOTE:It is important to note that the pressure rating of the relief valve indicates an operating range of pressure for both opening and ciosing of the valve.
Standard relief valves are required to OPEN in a range of pressure between 90%and 105%of their rating. The valves are required to CLOSE at a pressure
above 80°%of that rating. The relief valve should be instailed where it is easily accessible for maintenance.Care should be taken that the relief valve CAN-
NOT be isolated from the system when the system is operational.A relief valve should NEVER have a shutoff vaive or a plug downstream of its outlet.
