Re: Building Permit for 925 NP Road Yelm
Luke,
I while reviewing your building permit application I met with Catherine Koviak who said
she was a prospective tenant or buyers of the site. I have arranged for her to meet with
us tentatively on February 19, 2014 for a pre submission meeting. As such the only
issue I will discuss in this letter is the building permit requirements. The meeting will
generate notes covering the requirements for the site to be used as an industrial
application. I will keep you in the loop and you are invited to attend.
I have the following comments that you should be prepared to address or document
upon my inspection of the building:
1. Roof and Wall insulation R- values
a. Roof shall be a minimum of R -25 with an R -11 liner system
b. Wall insulation shall be R -13 plus R -10 Continuous insulation
2. Labor and industries has inspected all new lighting, wiring and heating
installed
A. lighting shall meet power allowances for the space per the Washington
State Energy Code (WEC)
B. new heating shall meet the WEC and the International Mechanical
Code for air quality and ventilation
C. new exterior lighting shall meet power allowances per the WEC
Once you or new owners decide how the building will be used, further review will
consider safety, accessibility and energy requirements for that occupancy.
