20070346 Alexander Comments re NOA 001Received OCT 1 7 2001 Tomi Merriman Community Development Department P.O. Box 479 Yelm, WA 98597 Howard and Bettie Alexander P.O. Box 206 Yelm, WA 08597 12 September 2007 Subject: Sojak Car Lot, comments regarding P cod i Z 73 o j y4 mac The Sojak Car Lot project abuts our property to the north along Morris Rd SE. As proposed that project will have two entrances along Morris Rd. We object to entrances along Morris Rd and request that the main entrance be on the north edge of the property along Route 507 where a drive is already in place along that Route. See the =symbol on the map on the next page for the location of that proposed main entrance. The reasons for this objection is that Morris Rd in that area is only one lane wide; when school buses pick up children along that section of Morris Rd they turn around at the small turn area at the end of the one lane road; and there is already a business with access only from that one lane road. Traffic on the main part of Morris Rd routinely backs up to the Bald Hills Rd all the way from beyond the bottom of the map on the next page due to school and church school traffic. Also, although the speed limit in that area is 25 mph, traffic going south is usually moving pretty fast and additional traffic generated by having Sojak's main entrances along the single lane portion of Morris Rd would exacerbate the problem. While we do not object to the car lot in that location, we do request that the main traffic into and out of the car lot enter and leave from Route 507 and not from the single lane portion of Morris Rd. Thank your for your consideration in this matter. Sincerely Sa Howard Alexand Bettie Alexander N a
