The City of Yelm implements Section R401.3 of the International Residential Code in soils
identified as fine outwash or till as follows:
The finished grade of the under floor shall be the same as the outside finished grade and
shall include 6 inches of pea gravel under the required vapor barrior; or
A foundation drainage system shall be provided around the perimeter of the building.
The foundation drainage system shall be perforated or open-jointed approved drain tile
or pip, not less than 3 inches in diameter. Foundation drains shall be laid in drain rock
or other approved porous material with not less than 4 inches surrounding the pipe and
wrapped with filter fabric. The foundation drainage system shall discharge to an
approved surface location which will not impact any adjacent property or a drywell sized
according to Section R405.1 IRC.
The City of Yeim implements Section 1101,.@ of the Uniform Plumbing Code as follows:
Roof drains shall be installed around the entire foundation wall perimeter in a loop. A
cleanout shall be located in line within 1 foot of the foundation wall and the approved
drainage system. Roof drainage piping shall be tested pursuant to Section 1109 of the
Uniform Plumbing Code.
Roof drains shall discharge to an approved surface location which will not impact any
adjacent property or to a drywell sized according to Section 1101.3 UPC.
