Re: Park Rules and Signs
Dear Mr. Smith,
The Community Development Department reviewed your park use request for
your annual rock and gem show and would like to take the opportunity to bring to
your attention the standards of Chapter 15.24 Yelm Municipal Code Signs.
As an organization you may apply for a special event permit which will allow the
use of banners and signs limited in size to 20 square feet and A board signs
limited to 2.5x4 feet. As per our previous conversations in past years of
operating the rock and gem show these are to be only used within the
boundaries of the site and for the time you have permission to use the site, in this
case City of Yelm Park.
Such signs must be erected and maintained as not to impair the use of the park
for other individuals. No signs shall be supported by vegetation or placed where
physical damage may occur to Yelm City Park facilities
As noted in the past, off - premise signage within the City limits is not allowed.
I hope this letter clarifies past misunderstandings on the use of signs in the City
of Yelm and emphasizes Yelm City Park rules that are applicable to your event
signs. If you have any questions or need further help please feel free to contact
me at 360 - 458 -8407.
S' ely
