301 McKenzie Ave SE Tree violation on Mckenzie 2 letterYELM WASHINGTON February 6, 2007 Giuseppe Zicaro 4023 Palisades Place W. University Place, WA 98466 Dear Mr. Zicaro: City of Yelm Community Development Department 105 Yelm Avenue West P.O. Box 479 Yelm, WA 98597 This is a follow up letter to the letter dated January 24, 2007 which was a notification about the trees that were destroyed at 301, 303 McKenzie Avenue SE, Yelm WA. Thank you for your prompt response and concern. During one of our regular Tree Board Meeting on January 29, 2007, we were informed by one of our Tree Board members that the 3 trees that were destroyed were actually Thundercloud Plums and not Hawthorns and therefore are not significantly historical. The City of Yelm will require that the destruction of the Thundercloud plums be reprimanded by donating 3 Thundercloud Plums with a minimum of 2" Caliper to our Public Works Nursery. These trees will be planted at a later time when the road is fully improved. Please have the trees delivered to 901 Rhoton Road SE, Yelm, WA 98597. Please feel free to continue to remove the trees that have been cut. If you decide to remove them from the roots, you will first need to contact the Public Works department to assure that there will be no interference with any underground utilities. Also, please refrain from further damaging the remaining tree that has not been fully destroyed. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (360) 458 -8430. Sincerely, Nisha R.
