Re: Storage Area Screening
Dear Ms. Gunstone,
The City of Yelm has received a complaint about the fact that you are storing your used
lawn mowers and parts in view of your neighbors.
City Ordinances require an "effective screen" for storage of materials outside used to
conduct business. An eight -foot high solid wood fence is presumed to be an effective
screen; however, this is not required in all cases. A six -foot solid wood fence or wood
slats in the chain link fence would be acceptable.
I will be out of town until October 14, 2002. Please review your options and present to
me a plan for screening your storage area during the week I return.
If we can be of help or answer any questions please call the Community Development
Department at (360) 458 -3835 for assistance. Thank you.
Sincerely
Gary Carlson

Re: Storage Area Screening
Dear Ms. Gunstone,
Thank you for your response to our letter. January 1, 2003 is a reasonable date. The
rental company that initiated the complaint is aware that we have had issues with that
property and said they would help us keep it clean. If you need assistance from them to
complete your fence please contact me.
