Mayor Foster called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
2. Present: Councilmember's: Russ Hendrickson, Joe DePinto, Jennifer Littlefield, Tracey
Wood, and EJ Curry. Absent: (excused) Molly Carmody, Tad Stillwell.
Staff present: City Administrator Michael Grayum, Police Chief Todd Stancil, Community
Development Director Grant Beck, Associate Planner Tami Merriman, Finance Director Noah
Crocker and City Clerk Lori Mossman.
3 a. TCOMM will attend a future Study Session.
3 b. Unified Development Code Update -
Tami Merriman updated the Council on the proposed changes to the Unified Development Code
(UDC) concerning Food trucks, Marijuana regulations, Farmers Market, Text changes and the
sections that pertain to Water and Sewer Codes. There will be a Public Hearing on the changes
May 23 and then will come before the Council for their adoption at the June 13 Council
meeting.
3 c. 2017 Budget Update -
Noah Crocker presented a power point presentation showing the actuals for 2016 and the first
quarter of 2017. The City's finances are on track with previous years. Noah will update the
Council monthly on revenues and expenditures.
S. Mayors Report -
Mayor Foster was asked by Councilmember Carmody to bring up the procedure for citizens to
suspend or turn off their utility services while they are on vacation or out of town for an
extended length of time. This matter was referred to the Finance Committee to research and
bring back to Council for an update.
6. Councilmember Updates -
Councilmember Hendrickson stated that the Yelm High School Girls Fast Pitch team are
number one in the state.
Councilmember Littlefield stated that the ADA traction devices are coming loose on the
sidewalk at 105th Way and Clark Road. The information will be passed on to Public Works so
they can fix the issue. Councilmember Littlefield would like the girls from "Together" to come
and give a presentation to Council at a future Study Session.
