BUDGET WORK SESSION

4: 15 PM, Y'ELM CITY HALL
PRESENT: Kathy Wolf, Adam Rivas, Glen Cunningham, Velma Curry, Martha Parsons,
and Don Miller. Staff: Shelly Badger, Agnes Bennick, Annette Laughlin, Glenn
Dunnam, Brian Asmus, Vem Prell, and Terry Vandiver.
An overview and comparison of Tax Rates was conducted. No changes were made.
Shelly Badger stated that she had been approached, more than once, and asked if the
gambling tax in Yelm could be lowered. It was suggested that a letter be prepared and
sent to Yelm's Gambling institutes, explaining that the City ofYelm's Gambling Tax is
much lower than the average.
Remaining material was reviewed and there were no changes.
Police Department Budget was discussed and it was decided that Mayor Wolf, Shelly
Badger, Chief Dunnam, and Councilmember Cunningham would meet and further
discuss the budget and bring it to the next Work Session.
Mayor Wllf stated that priorities for the budget would be:

2. Public Works Building
3. Railroad
4. Sidewalks-stretch costs
5. Well-drilling, testing, etc.
6. Year 2000, buy back LID
