Resolution No. 586, Declaring certain properties in the City of Yelm as Public Nuisance 3-27-18 18-040 MOTION BY TRACEY WOOD AUTHORIZING MAYOR FOSTER TO SIGN RESOLUTION NO. 586 ALLOWING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO DECLARE PUBLIC NUISANCES AT THE LISTED PROPERTIES TO BE ABATED AND TO AUTHORIZE A LIEN BE PLACED AGAINST THE PROPERTY FOR THE COST OF THE ABATEMENT IF AND WHEN THE PROPERTY OWNER REFUSES TO COOPERATE. Resolution No. 588, Greenhouse Gas Policy 18-043 MOTION BY MOLLY CARMODY ADOPTING RESOLUTION NO. 588 WHEREBY CREATING A NEW POLICY OUTLINING FUTURE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES TO FURTHUR THE CITY'S EFFORTS TO PREPARE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE AND RETAIN COMPLIANCE WITH ADOPTED STATE AND FEDERAL LAW. Department Updates by City Administrator Michael Grayum- • AC Water Main Replacement project is underway. • Sludge from the Reuse Facility will be going to Shelton instead of Tacoma for processing. • 1 Police Officer and 1 Reserve Officer have been injured while on duty. • Finance Director, Joe Wolfe will be closing last year's budget and quarterly budget updates will be coming soon. • Court Administrator Sonia Ramirez is working on an Interlocal Agreement for Mental Health and Veterans Services to be available at the Municipal Court. • The City of Yelm has been awarded a $10,000 grant by the Port of Olympia and a $3,000 grant from Association of Washington Cities. • Custodian interviews will be held Thursday. • A Public Defender has been chosen. 11. Mayor and Council Initiatives Councilmember Curry attended the Area Agency on Aging meeting, the Yelm Public Safety Committee meeting and the Rainier Education Foundation Auction. Councilmember Carmody attended the Intercity Transit Authority Board meeting, the Nisqually River Council meeting and announced that the forming of the Homeless Task Force is moving forward. 3-27-18 Councilmember Wood attended the Rainier Education Foundation Auction. Councilmember DePinto attended the South Thurston Economic Development Initiative group meeting, the Yelm Public Safety Committee meeting and the Hazardous Weather Task Force meeting. Mayor Foster thanked Council for attending their Regional meetings, thanked staff for their staff reports and asked that Council read their packets prior to the meetings. Mayor Foster attended the Housing Action Team of Thurston County meeting, met with Sheriff Snaza regarding school safety, attended the Planning Commission retreat, Medic One EMS Council meeting, volunteered for Green Congress at Evergreen College, Port of Olympia Commissioner meeting and the Department of Transportation by Smart Growth America meeting. 12.
