ORDINANCE NO. 743
AN ORDINANCE establishing a six month temporary exemption from Title 17,
Zoning at 411 NE West Road, Yelm, WA for the specific use of the site as Thurston
County Medic One Facility, serving the Yelm and surrounding area.
WHEREAS, the City of Yelm recognizes the importance of providing public safety
and emergency response facilities locally; and
WHEREAS, the Thurston County Medic One Unit serving the Yelm and surrounding
area needed to relocate its facility on a short notice; and
WHEREAS, under normal circumstances compliance with Title 17, Zoning,
processes require a minimum of three months from the submittal date of a Special Use
Permit Application.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. 411 NE West Road, Yelm, WA shall be exempt from Title 17, Zoning, for the
specific use of the site as the Thurston County Medic One facility for Yelm and the
surrounding area. The exemption shall be valid for six months and will expire upon
Thurston County Medic One relocating to a different location or March 5, 2002, whichever is
earlier.
Section 2. Severability. If any provisions of this ordinance or its application to any person or
circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance or the application of the
provisions to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, apprpval and publication as provided by law.
