717 Readopting Ord 677CITY OF YELM ORDINANCE NO. 717 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF YELM, WASH[NGTON, READOPTING ORDINANCE NO. 677 SETTING THE ANNUAL AD VALOREM TAX LEVY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000. WHEREAS, on November 10, 1999, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 677 which in part set the ad valorem tax levy for the calendar year 2000, and WHEREAS, the amount of said levy was established pursuant to the directions of State law and provided an increase of 6% a percentage increase dictated by State Statute along with a lawful increase drawing against unclaimed tax revenue from prior years, resulting in a combined increase of $38,798.72 or 8.97% of the regular property tax levy for ] 999, and WHEREAS, although Ordinance No. 677 was adopted specifically in accordance with the provisions of State Statute, and such taxes have since be levied by the Assessor of Thurston County, Initiative Measure 722 provides that any tax increase adopted between July 2, 1999 and December 31, 1999 is null and void and of no effect, and therefore, if such provision is upheld, it is necessary to readopt the tax levy for the 2000 calendar year, NOW, THEREFORE, follows: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM, WASHINGTON, as Section 1. Ordinance No. 677, a copy of which is attached, is hereby readopted in its entirety. Section 2. Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining parts of this ordinance.
