766 Establish Salary Range for 2 New Job ClassesCITY OF YELM
ORDINANCE NO. 766
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Yelm amending Appendix II of the
2002 City of Yelm Budget, adopted by Ordinance No. 746 (12/01),
by adding two new Job Classifications, establishing a salary range
for each of the added classifications, and declaring an effective
date.
WHEREAS, a department management revision was recommended in the
July 16, 2002 Staff Report to City Council as a way to facilitate efficient
departmental operation and to establish clear lines of authority in the Public
Works Department; and;
WHEREAS, Council recognizes the need to ensure continuing effective
operations of City departments; and
WHEREAS, the Yelm City Council at a regular meeting held on the 24tH
day of July, 2002 determined that it was in the best interests of the City to revise
the Yelm Public Works Department management structure immediately; and
WHEREAS, the Yelm City Council recognizes an obligation to provide
compensation for additional duties and responsibilities and approved by motion a
five (5%) salary increase for the impacted positions; and
WHEREAS, the Yelm City Council at the regular meeting held on the 14tH
day of August, 2002 provided instructions to include in this ordinance a step
range for both positions along with a Step 3 starting salary for each;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM,
WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Appendix II of the 2002 City of Yelm Budget shall be amended as
shown commencing with August 2002 pay period.

Section 2. The budget for the year 2002 as amended by the changes in
Section 1 shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk who is hereby
directed to transmit this supplemental budget to the Auditor of the
State of Washington, Division of Municipal Corporations.
Section 3. Ratify and Confirmation Clause -Any action taken pursuant to this
ordinance but prior to the effective date is hereby ratified and
confirmed.
