762 Authorize Police Sergeant FillingCITY OF YELM
ORDINANCE NO. 762
AN ORDINANCE amending the City of Yelm 2002 Budget adopted by
Ordinance No. 746 (12/01) and the attached Employee Salary Schedule,
Section 2, Appendix II, by authorizing filling the Police Sergeant's
position at a higher Step Level and declaring an effective date.
WHEREAS, hiring at Step 1 of approved salary ranges may not allow the City to be
competitive in attracting and retaining well trained staff members;
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Yelm do ordain as follows:
Section 1. Amendments. City of Yelm 2002 Budget Ordinance 746, and Salary Schedule
Appendix lI annexed to and incorporated therein is amended to reflect a higher
(Step 3) starting level for the Police Sergeant position based upon the
candidate's qualifications.
