810 New Monthly Service Rates for Sewer CustomersCITY OF YELM
ORDINANCE N0.810
AN ORDINANCE setting new monthly service rates for sewer customers and repealing and
replacing Yelm Municipal Code Section 1, Ordinance 683 (12.3.99) and YMC 13.08.095, C (Table 2).
WHEREAS, the Sewer Department consisting of the STEP collection system, and the Water
Reclamation Facility consisting of the reclaimed water and distribution and reuse system, is required by
statute to be self supporting; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to periodically review and adjust charges necessary to provide and
maintain the sewer and water reclamation systems; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to adjust rates to provide for the sustainability of this fund and to
provide for future growth and capital improvements to the system; and
WHEREAS, a duly advertised public hearing has been held to consider this rate increase;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Yelm do ordain as follows:
Section 1. Repealer. Ordinance 683 Section 1, and Yelm Municipal Code Section 13.08.095, C (Table 2)
is hereby repealed.

C. Sewer Rates and Structure. The sewer rate for the city is established per the rates as identified
in Tables 2-7. There shall be an additional charge per cubic foot flow in excess of 900 cubic feet
per month for commercial/industrial use. This additional charge shall be calculated by dividing the
current monthly rate by 900 cubic feet.

Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance will take effect for billing period September, 2004.
Section 3. Savinsa Clause. Section 1, Table 2, of Ordinance No. 683 and Yelm Municipal Code
13.08.095, C shall remain in force and effect until the effective date of this ordinance.
Section 4. Severability. B If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this
ordinance is declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
