RESOLUTION NO. 378
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
YELM ESTABLISHING AND SETTING MEDIAN INCOME
LEVELS TO QUALIFY FOR SENIOR CITIZEN UTILITY RATE
REDUCTIONS.
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Yelm City Council to make available reduced water and/or sewer
rates to Senior Citizens; and ,
WHEREAS, "Senior Citizen" has been defined in Sewer Ordinance No. 506 and Ordinance No.
511 amending Water Ordinance No. 337 as a head of household over the age, of 65 who is retired and is
below the median income as established by the City; and
WHEREAS, City Council has reviewed existing income levels and determined that an increase to
the amount set forth in Resolution 317 (8/94) is appropriate; and
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the new rates shall apply as of January 1, 1999;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The median income for a single person shall be 11 000 per year or less;
Section 2. The median income for a couple shall be 14 000 per year or less.
