RESOLUTION 373
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE NISQUALLY INDIAN TRIBE
AS LEAD AGENCY FOR THE SALMON ENHANCEMENT GRANT
PROJECT AUTHORIZED UNDER ENGROSSED SUBSTITUTE
HOUSE BILL 2496.
~, ~ WHEREAS, the State Legislature passed ESHB 2496 in 1998; and

WHEREAS, ESHB 2496 provides a salmon enhancement grant project to address
factors limiting salmon production, and; a
WHEREAS, the project is administered by the Washington State Department of
Fish and Wildlife, and;
WHEREAS, the program administrators require jurisdictions included in a target
Watershed Resource Inventory Area to designate a lead entity for participation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Yelm, Washington:
1. The City of Yelm agrees that the Nisqually River Watershed
Resource Inventory Area 11 and all its major tributaries in the anadromous
fish zone will be the target for the development of a restoration plan and
specific projects to be implemented under this grant.
2. The City of Yelm designates the Nisqually Indian Tribe as the lead
governmental entity for the purposes of this grant.
