PERSONNEL POLICY AMENDMENT - MEDICAL BENEFITS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AMENDING CITY OF YELM
RESOLUTION 313 (7/94) AND CITY PERSONNEL POLICIES BY
EXTENDING THE STIPEND OFFERED TO EMPLOYEES IN LIEU OF
MEDICAL INSURANCE TO INCLUDE PART-TIME EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, City Council recognizes that not all employees desire
to participate in the medical insurance plan provided by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DOES
RESOLVE THAT THE YELM PERSONNEL POLICIES SHALL BE AMENDED AS
FOLLOWS:
Yelm Personnel Policies, Chapter 6, Section 6.3, Insurance
Benefits, Paragraph (s) is amended by the addition/deletion of the
following text as paragraph 2 of that section:
An employee may elect to forego enrollment in the City
sponsored medical insurance plan. Upon the request of
the employee and with City council approval an amount of
$100 per month may be awarded to ~e full-time employees
in lieu of medical insurance. _Part-time employees
working more than half-time but less than full-time shall
be eligible to receive one half of the stipend amount._
