345 Eliminating Financial Barrier From Serving As Elected Government OfficalCITY OF YELM
RESOLUTION NO. 345
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Councilmembers are frequently
called upon to represent the City in an official capacity
at a variety of meetings and functions; and
WHEREAS, Council wishes to eliminate any financial
barrier that might discourage Yelm's citizens from
considering serving their community as an elected
government official; and
WHEREAS, Council pay has not increased since 1986;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY-THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF YELM, WASHINGTON, that following
attendance as a City representative at four unpaid
meetings per month by the Mayor or any Councilmember, the
Mayor/Councilmember shall be eligible to receive payment
of $35.00 for attending each additional meeting.
