A RESOLUTION DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR THE CITY OF YELM
DUE TO FLOODING AND NECESSARY EVACUATIONS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
Whereas, the Yelm Police Department was activated as the
Emergency Operations Center at 11 AM on February 8, 1996.
Whereas, City Personnel, (including Police, Public Works and
Administrative) have been called to duty to deal with the
emergency at hand during regular work hours and required after
hours work.
whereas, additional supplies, including sand, sand bags,
barricades, signs and cones, had to be purchased and/or leased to
assist with road closures and other flood related events.
Whereas, road repairs and other flood related cleanup will be
required after the emergency subsides.
Whereas, Governor Lowry has declared a State of Emergency within
Washington State on Thursday, February, 8, 1996.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED (as per Annex V of the Yelm
Disaster/Emergency Plan}, BY THE MAYOR PRO-TEMPORE OF THE CITY OF
YELM THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS IN THE CITY.
