PERSONNEL POLICY AMENDMENT - MEDICAL BENEFITS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM
AMENDING THE PERSONNEL POLICIES BY PROVIDING A STIPEND OF
$100 PER MONTH TO EMPLOYEES IN LIEU OF MEDICAL INSURANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that not all employees desire
to participate in the medical insurance plan provided by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DOES RESOLVE
THAT THE YELM PERSONNEL POLICIES SHALL BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
Yelm Personnel Polices, Chapter 6, Section 6.3, Insurance Benefits,
Paragraph (a) is amended by the addition of the following text as
paragraph 2 of .that section:
An employee may elect to forego enrollment in the City
sponsored medical insurance plan. Upon request of the
employee and with City Council approval an amount of $100
per month may be awarded to the employee in lieu of
medical insurance. This option may be made available
only as long as participation requirements of the
insurance provider are met.
