MOUNTAIN VIEW ROAD ANNEXATION AND ZONING
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM EXPRESSING
THE INTENT OF THE COUNCIL WITH RESPECT TO THE ANNEXATION PETITION
PRESENTED FOR PROPERTY ADJACENT TO MOUTAIN VIEW ROAD.
WHEREAS, Eric Anderson, John Huddleston, Jon Hutchinson, and
others have submitted a set of petitions to annex certain
property lying east and west of Mountain View Road immediately
north of the Yelm city limits,
WHEREAS, said petition includes the signatures of the record
owners of over 60% of the value of the described area,
WHEREAS, the Council finds that to ensure timely action no
additional properties should be added to such annexation,
WHEREAS, said property lies within the proposed urban growth area
of the City of Yelm, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held public hearings and
recommends that certain property be zoned as commercial (C-1) as
proposed by petitioner Huddleston, that the most northerly ten
acres along Burnett Road be zoned as Residential Agriculture
Five-Acre (RA-5), and has declined to recommend zoning for the
remainder of the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DOES
RESOLVE, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 It is the intent of the City of Yelm to annex that
property described as:
The N} of the NE} of the NW} of Section 24 and the S}
of the SW} of the SE} of Section 13, together with the
E} of the SW} of Section 13, excepting the N} of the
NE} of the NE} of the SW} of Section 13 and excepting
that portion of said area already lying within the Yelm
city limits, all within Township 17 North, Range 1 East
W.M., together with all adjacent public rights-of-way
including the right-of-way of Burnett Road to its
current northern terminus.
Section 2. That the Thurston County Boundary Review Board shall
be notifed of said intent. Upon receipt of approval of the Board
it is the intent of the Council to adopt an ordinance implement-
ing the above express intent and to zone tax parcel numbers 34-03
and -06 as Commercial (C-1), parcels 34, 34-01, and 34-0301 as
Single-Family Residential (R-1), and the remainder of the
annexation area as Residential Agriculture 5-acre (RA-5).
Section 3. That the Yelm Comprehensive Plan Map shall be amended
to designate the first listed parcels as Commercial and the
remainder of said property as "single-family residential."
