RATIFICATION OF COUNTY-WIDE PLANNING POLICIES
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM RATIFYING
COUNTY-WIDE RCWN36N70AO210IOF THE GROWTHOMANAGEMENTNACTTS CITIES
PURSUANT TO
WHEREAS, Section 36.70A.210 of the Revised Code of Washington,
commonly known as the Growth Management Act or House Bill 1025,
requires that the Board of Thurston County Commissioners adopt a
county-wide planning policy in cooperation with the cities
located in Thurston County,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding regarding a
process for developing and adopting such policies approved on
November 4, 1991, the City of Yelm through its elected officials
has participated in preparation of policies as proposed by the
County-wide Policy Coordinating Committee on June 4, 1992;
WHEREAS, the City Council has had inadequate opportunity to
review or participate in preparation of any attachments to said
policies and such attachments could lead to misinterpretatiorooal
adopted policies, therefore the City chooses to withhold app
of any such attachments,
WHEREAS, the Yelm Planning Commission has reviewed and commented
on the proposed policies and the City Council has held a duly-
noticed public hearing regarding ratification of such policies,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds the proposed policies to be in
accordance with the goals and policies of the City of Yelm and to
contribute to the general welfare of its citizenry;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DOES
RESOLVE, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
The City of Yelm does hereby ratify those policies as recommi992d
by the County-wide Policy Coordinating Committee on June 4, ,
including any and all editorial and insubstantial changes deemed
necessary by the County-wide Policy Coordinating Committee. The
City of Yelm does not ratify or approve any additional or
accompanying documents to such policies, and specifically does
not ratify any "Vision Statement" as an attachment to the county-
wide planning policies.
