231 Supporting Public Law And Prohibiting Excessive Use Of ForceCITY OF YEI_M RESOLUTION NO. 231 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PUBLIC LAW AND PROHIBITING EXCESSIVE USE OF FORCE. WHEREAS, the City of Yelm wishes to be in accordance with Section 519 of Public Law 101-144, (1990 HUD Appropriations Act). NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Yelm that the city hereby adopts a policy which prohibits the excessive use of force by any law enforcement agencies or personnel against individuals engaged in nonviolent civil rights demonstrations and that the policy further stipulates that law enforcement personnel shall exercise the minimum force necessary to effect arrest and/or protect themselves and others against any individuals engaged in nonviolent civil rights demonstrations.
