BEFORE THE YELM TOWN COUNCIL
IN THE MATTER OF REVISING )
THE SHORELINE MASTER PROGRAM ) RESOLUTION AND DECISION
FOR THE THURSTON REGION. )
WHEREAS, the Thurston Regional Planning Council developed the first Shoreline
Master Program for the Thurston Re ion, and has traditionally been the entity that is
responsible for developing revisions to this Master Program; and
WHEREAS, the Shoreline Master Program for the Thurston Region is a regional
Shoreline Master Program, and is used by Thurston County and the cities of Lacey,
Olympia, Tumwater, Yelm, Tenino and Bucoda; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of 90.58 RCW (Shoreline Management
Act of 1971), the Yelm Town Council adopted this master program, which program
establishes policies and use regulations for various shorelines located with Yelm; and
WHEREAS, the Thurston Regional Planning Council reviewed and adopted, with
minor modification, the recommendations of the Advisory Committee for revising the
Shoreline Master Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Yelm Town Council that it is
in receipt of and concurs with the recommendation of the Thurston Regional Planning
Council that the Shoreline Master Program for the Thurston Region be revised as
shown in attached Exhibit A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 193 of May 10, 1989 is
hereby amended to read as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Yelm Town Council recognizes that the
Yelm Planning Department has properly filed an Environmental Checklist and properly
issued a Determination of Nonsignificance with regard to this proposed change to the
Shoreline Program.
