ORDINANCE NO. 891
AN ORDINANCE amending Yelm Municipal Code Title 13, by amending
Subsection 13.04.250 (B), Monthly Consumption Charges by adding a
seasonal irrigation rate to tiers three and four of the current block rate
structure.
WHEREAS, the State of Washington and Washington State Department of Health
have declared the efficient use and conservation of water to be a public purpose of high
priority; and
WHEREAS, the City of Yelm has historically promoted water use efficiency and
conservation by funding and implementing various water conservation strategies; and
WHEREAS, the City continues its efforts to achieve conservation, which reflects
responsible use of a precious natural resource; and
WHEREAS, City of Yelm uses exponentially more water during the peak summer
demand months due to seasonal irrigation,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Amending Subsection 13.04.250 (B), by adding a seasonal irrigation rate to
the current block rate tiers three and four for all irrigation meters and
residential meters for the period of June 1 to October 1.
The monthly consumption charges for all irrigation meters and residential meters for
the months of June 1 to October 1 will be as follows:
0-600 c.f. 601-1000 c.f. 1001-2400 c.f. 2,400 + c.f.
$1.15 $1.80 $3.45 $5.34
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in effect and be in force five days following passage
and publication.
