10-9-07 Minutes YELM CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2007 MINUTES 1. Call to Order— Mayor Pro Tem, Bob Isom called the Meeting to Order at 7:30 pm. 2. Roll Call — Present: Don Miller, Joe Baker, Mike McGowan, Pat Fetterly, John Thompson and Russ Hendrickson. 3. Agenda Approval 07-85 MOTION BY JOE BAKER APPROVING THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. CARRIED. 4. Special Presentations — none scheduled 5. Public Comment- Mayor Pro Tern Isom called for public comment. Merle Hom, Thurston County, described Yelm as a dynamic place enjoying an active Chamber of Commerce and a rich Library program. Would like to bring forward a program to enrich the community through citizen action, specifically retirees. Would like to encourage work with non profit agencies, schools and the senior community interested in organizational growth, change and challenge. She provided a handout for distribution from Antioch University titled, 2007 Legacy Leadership Institute. 6. Consent Agenda a. Minutes, September 25, 2007 Regular Meeting and October 2, 2007 Budget Work Session. b. New Business a. Ordinance No. 882, Imprest Fund Increase to Cash Drawer. Janine Schnepf reviewed the staff report with a request to increase the cash drawer amount with change to be able to complete the daily deposit and still make change for customers at the counter making payments. js/city council/2007 Page 1 of 2 07-87 MOTION BY PAT FETTERLY ADOPTING ORDINANCE NO. 882 AMENDING CHAPTER 3.64.010, CHANGE AND IMPREST FUND OF THE YELM MUNICIPAL CODE BY INCREASING THE FUND TO $200 AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. CARRIED 9. Old Business 10. Mayor and City Council Reports Councilmember Hendrickson participated in a Fire Department ride along. Councilmember Thompson attended Chamber meeting, Stevens Street Opening and Transportation Policy Board meeting. Councilmember McGowan attended Home Consortium sub-committee of South Sound members. Working on 10 year vision statement for better social services locally. Councilmember Baker attended Intercity Transit meeting. He reported that they have added 2 routes to and from Olympia because of the increase in ridership. They will continue to work on a Pierce County connection as well as interest in an evening schedule. Councilmember Miller attended the Fire District meeting and the Chamber of Commerce meeting. 11. Executive Sessions — none scheduled 12. Correspondence provided for review included Waste Free Holidays Program, Comcast line-up changes and invitation to attend Sam Brewer Memorial Field dedication at the former VFW field. 13.
