5-YEAR URBAN FORESTRY STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE 2009-2013
WHEREAS, YMC Section 2.34.040 requires the Yelm Tree Advisory Board to
make recommendations to the city council on ordinances, rules and regulations
regarding trees on public property to best serve the interests of the public; and
WHEREAS, the adopted 5-Year Urban Forestry Strategic Plan was adopted by
City Council in 1998 and was last updated in 2004 by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that recommendations of the Yelm
Tree Advisory Board to update and amend the adopted 5-Year Urban Forestry Strategic
Plan are consistent with the Yelm Municipal Code. This plan helps to preserve trees
and other vegetation during property development and provide for the regulation of the
planting, maintenance, and removal of trees in the public right of way and City owned
property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Yelm
that the 2009-2013 5-Year Urban Forestry Strategic Plan attached to this resolution is
hereby adopted.
