06-25-08 SS Minutes YELM CITY COUNCIL STUDY SESSION MINUTES
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25, 2008
1. Mayor Harding called the meeting to order at 5:08 pm.
2. Present: Pat Fetterly, Don Miller, Joe Baker, John Thompson, Bob Isom and Russ Hendrickson. Staff:
Shelly Badger, Stephanie Ray, Tanya Robacker and Lori Mossman. Mike McGowan arrived at 5:30
pm.
3. Agenda Approval - as presented.
4. Presentations
a. Stephanie Ray gave an update to the council on the Water Use Efficiency open house on June 18,
2008. The comments and concerns of the attending public were discussed and will be posted on the
city's website soon. There will be a Water System Plan meeting August 6, 2008, 6:00-7:30 pm at the
Public Safety Building.
5. Mayor/Councillnitiatives
Councilmember McGowan stated that the Yelm Library currently has programs available for youth.
Mayor Harding wanted to discuss the possibilities of a youth program partially funded by the City and
held at the Yelm Community Services building. It was decided that the first step would be to get all of
the different groups of the community together and see what each has to offer regarding youth
programs. The City will facilitate a brainstorming session to inventory the youth programs that are
currently offered in our community.
