TUESDAY, August 25, 2009 MINUTES
1. Call to Order -Mayor Harding called the Meeting to Order at 7:00 p.m.
2. Roll Call -Present: Don Miller, Bob Isom, Pat Fetterly, John Thompson and
Russ Hendrickson. Joe Baker and Mike McGowan were excused.
3. Agenda Approval
9-070 MOTION BY PAT FETTERLY APPROVING THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED.
CARRIED.
4. Special Presentations- Yelm Adult Community Center - `Tree of Life'
Program -Warren Williams, Yelm Senior Center Administrator explained the
2009 Tree of Life Campaign will take place from September 14 to October 14.
This program was started in order to raise funds to continue the operation of the
Yelm Adult Community Center as a five-day per week senior center, the
maintenance of current programs, and the development of new programs for
members and the community. Donors may choose to honor a loved one, a
special event or simply have their names engraved on a gold ($200), silver
($100) or bronze ($50) leaf to show support for the Center with their one time
donation. Their goal is to fill the whole tree with donation leaves. Mayor Harding
encouraged Councilmembers to visit the center and complimented Mr. Williams
on doing a fine job managing the center and stated his work is greatly
appreciated.
5. Public Comment -Nadine Whitlock, a Yelm resident would like to donate
some trees and shrubs that she has for the Senior Center Habitat.
David Auti stressed the importance of the Yelm Adult Center and encourages
everyone to listen to the board members that will be visiting businesses to
educate the public about the program.

10. Mayor and City Council Reports
Councilmember Thompson attended the Transportation Policy Board meeting
and updated the Council on the state campus study that was done.
Councilmember Hendrickson attended the Chamber after hours sponsored by
Edward Jones Financial.
Mayor Harding attended the Yelm Rotary Chapter which is newly formed and is
in need of new members. Merle Hom commented on the Rotary and supports
this chapter and is also a member.
11. Executive Sessions -none scheduled.
12. Correspondence -Comcast Lineup changes effective 9-17-09, August 12,
2009, Comcast July 31, 2009 Late fee changes, AWC Regional meetings
schedule for Elected Officials, City Administrators and City Clerks. Check
locations and dates.
