HEARING NONE, MAYOR FOSTER CAST HIS VOTE (20-052) IN FAVOR OF EJ CURRY TO COUNCIL. EJ CURRY IS APPOINTED TO POSITION NO. 3 FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TERM (NOVEMBER 2021). Student of the Year Montana Halloway joined the meeting and thanked Council. Councilmember EJ Curry joined the other Councilmembers as a Panelist. 8. UPDATES - City Administrator - Michael Grayum • Compliments to new Public Works Director Cody Colt who has been busy creating and implementing new training programs. • Thurston County has entered Phase 2, which restricts public gatherings so reservations for the Yelm Community Center are on hold until July. • Yelm Municipal Court will receive metal detectors and they should be installed by the time they re -open. • An overview of the Public Works Projects will be given at the July 7, 2020 Study Session. • A Financial Update will be given at the June 23, 2020 Council meeting. Councilmember Blair attended the Solid Waste Advisory Committee meeting. Councilmember Carmody attended the Intercity Transit Authority meeting and will attend the Yelm Finance Committee meeting and the Public Works Committee meeting on Thursday. Councilmember Stillwell attended the Yelm Planning & Economic Development Committee meeting and will attend the Yelm Emergency Operations Board meeting tomorrow. Councilmember Wood attended the Administrative Board of Director for TCOMM 911 meeting. Councilmember DePinto attended the Yelm Planning & Economic Development Committee meeting, met with the Executive Director for Timberland Regional Library and the local Branch Manager for the Boys & Girls Club. Councilmember DePinto congratulated EJ Curry on rejoining Council. Councilmember Kaminski congratulated EJ Curry for her appointment to Council. Councilmember Kaminski attended the Yelm Planning & Economic June 9, 2020 Page 1 2 Development Committee meeting and will attend the Yelm Finance Committee meeting on Thursday. Councilmember Curry stated that the Senior Center would open next Tuesday with limited seating. David Hoadly addressed Council and thanked the Mayor and Council for being considered for Council Position No. 3. Mr. Hoadly congratulated El Curry for her appointment to Council. Mayor Foster stated that the Yelm Food Bank has so much food that they have ran out of space at their current location and is working with the Community Development Department to find additional approved locations. Mayor Foster thanked the Community for holding respectful protests In honor of George Floyd and also thanked the Yelm Police Department. Mike Connelly of Yelm was hospitalized with the coronavirus for seventy-five days. Thirty-six of those days, Mr. Connelly was on a ventilator. Welcome home Mike Connelly. 9.
