Public Comment - Bethany Ryan - shared concerns about the larger than normal utility bill she received. Laura Melde - concerned about the water rates in Yelm. Cheryl Dance - spoke about her utility bill. Elizabeth Milligan - shared concerns about her larger than normal utility bill. Samuel Jeffers - his utility bill was not high but some of his neighbors had large bills. 5. Acquisition of 1.06 acres from Brookdale Golf, LLC for SW Mosman Avenue Phase 2 Extension 20-099 MOTION BY JOE DEPINTO APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF 1.06 BROOKDALE GOLF, LLC, PLUS RELOCATION COMPENSATION AND TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASEMENTS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $509,773 FOR THE PLANNED PHASE 2 EXTENSION OF SW MOSMAN AVENUE FROM SW RAILROAD STREET TO SW LONGMIRE STREET SW. OF PUYALLUP, WA AND ON-CALL CONSTRUCTION SERVICES - SIDEWALK REPAIRS & REHABILITATION WITH JUDHA OF LION LANDSCAPING AND SERVICES, LLC OF MAPLE VALLEY. Old Business - none scheduled UPDATES - City Administrator - Michael Grayum • Thurston Regional Planning Council is holding the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan online Open House September 16 - October 15, 2020. We will put the link on our website. • Kudos to the Public Works employees for the clean rating at the water Reclamation Facility and recycling of the old steel rails that have been stored at Public Works. • Prep work to paint the Water Tower is taking place now. Councilmember Blair attended the Finance and Public Safety Committee meetings. Councilmember Curry attended the SE Thurston Fire Authority meeting, and the Public Works Committee meeting. Mayor Foster attended the EMS Council meeting for Councilmember Curry. Councilmember Curry attended the Farmer's Market, the Senior Center meeting, and the General Government Committee meeting. September 22, 2020 Page 1 2 Councilmember Stillwell attended the South Thurston Economic Development Initiative meeting and the Public Safety Committee meeting. Councllmember Stillwell is grateful to serve with this Council. Councilmember Wood attended the Public Safety Committee meeting. Councilmember DePinto attended the Public Works Committee meeting and will attend the Board of Directors of Economic Development Committee meeting tomorrow. Councilmember DePinto submitted a budget proposal for consideration. Condolences to the City of Tenino for the loss of Police Chief Swain. Great Job Yelm Police Department for catching the armed robber of the Prairie Hotel. Councilmember Kaminski attended the Thurston Thrives meeting and the Finance Committee meeting and will attend the Nisqually River Council meeting next week. Mayor Foster has been busy working with customers on their high water bills, negotiations with the Fraternal Order of Police and will start negotiations with Teamsters soon. Mayor Foster attended the EMS Council meeting for Councilmember Curry who was unable to attend. Mayor Foster attended the Grocery Outlet Ribbon cutting, AWC Racial Equity Part 2 webinar, the Mayor's Exchange, and the South Thurston Economic Development Initiative meeting. This is Train Safety Awareness Week. Blood Works NW will hold their blood drive October 1" & 2nd at the Yelm Community Center. Please register at bloodworksnw.org. 9. Executive Session - At 8:01 p.m., Mayor Foster announced that Council would go Into a 45 minute Executive Session to discuss the Acquisition of Real Estate. RCW 42.30.110 (b).
