b. Additional $167,025 CARES ACT Funding
20-092 MOTION BY TAD STILLWELL TO ALLOCATE 2007o TO THE COMMUNITY
FUND MANAGED BY TOGETHER AND 80% OF THE ADDITIONAL CARES
ACT RELIEF FUND MONIES TO THE YELM BUSINESS FUND FOR A TOTAL
GRANT NOT TO EXCEED $7,500. SECONDED BY TRACEY WOOD. Discussion

MAYOR FOSTER ASKED FOR THE VOTE ON THE MOTION TO ALLOCATE
65% OF THE ADDITIONAL CARES TO YELM BUSINESSES AND 35% TO THE
YELM COMMUNITY RELIEF FUND MANAGED BY TOGETHER. 5-2 (NO-
DEPINTO, BLAIR) MOTION CARRIED.
B. UPDATES—
City Administrator — Grant Beck
Due to the weather being warmer than normal and people being home from
COVID, the utility bills for some are higher than normal. The Customer
Service Team did a great job tracking down information for customers and
kudos to Public Works Director Cody Colt and his team on re -reads and
collecting data. Mayor Foster has ideas to explore for the high consumption
users. An Ordinance is being discussed to provide some relief to customers
with higher than normal utility bills. Mayor Foster thanked Utility Billing Clerk
Jennifer Beauchamp and Executive Assistance & CST Manager Kathy
Unnemeyer for all their hard work. The Ordinance will be brought to Council
at the next meeting.
Councilmember Blair urged people to be careful during the fire season.
Councilmember Carmody stated that Thurston County if under a red flag fire
warning right now.
Councilmember Stillwell will have Lateral Police interviews on Thursday.
Councilmember Wood attended the Administrative Board of Directors meeting
for TCOMM 911.
Councilmember DePinto attended the Yelm Planning & Economic Development
Committee meeting. Councilmember DePinto has forwarded a "Drive thru policy'
for a business to the General Government Committee for their review. October 24
is the date selected for the Council Retreat. More information will be sent to
Council for their review. Councilmember DePinto echoed Councilmembers
Carmody and Blair's statements on staying safe during the fres.
Councilmember Kaminski attended the Yelm Planning & Economic Development
Committee meeting.
Mayor Foster stated to keep all the people affected by the fire in your thoughts
especially Malden, WA that burned 80% of the structures in the City. Stay safe
firefighters. September 16, 2020 is the Ribbon Cutting for Grocery Outlet at 9:00

A.M. Most everyone will stay in his or her cars for the event. The City of Yelm has
received seven or eight Lateral applications for the Yelm Police Department.
September 11, 2020 is coming in three days; never forget.
