01-28-04 MINUTES YELM CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES REGULAR MEETING WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2004 Call to Order 1. . Mayor Rivas called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll Call 2. . Present: Joe Baker, Bob Isom, Ron Harding and Pat Fetterly. Absent: Don Miller 3. Agenda Approval 04 -05 MOTION BY BOB ISOM, SECONDED BY PAT FETTERLY APPROVING THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. CARRIED. Mayor and Council Reports and Initiatives and Board/Commission Business Councilmember Baker inquired about the property that had been gifted for a library. The issue will be referred staff but it is believed that there was a sunset on the gift that expired. Councilmember Isom attended a TPB meeting where city vs. county Yelm City Council Minutes Page 1 of 2 ab/city council/2004/01-28-04 ordinances was the topic of discussion. He also spent some time exploring the City’s Web Site, which is one of the best city sites he’s seen, and spent some time linking to the Yelm High School Historic Site, which has a wealth of information about the Yelm area. There was also some discussion concerning laws from the 1920s. Councilmember Harding attended an IT meeting. Discussion at the meeting concerned the Streamlined Sales Tax being developed at this time. Councilmember Fetterly attended a Nisqually River Council meeting where discussion concerned a public access permit at the tank crossing. Mayor Rivas accepted for the City a Washington Territorial Sesquicentennial Commission Certificate recognizing the City’s efforts to honor Washington’s past. Mayor Rivas announced that Ronnie Nutter applied for the opening on the Yelm-Timberland Library Board and recommended her to fill the . Council consensus supported the appointment. current vacancy a. Replacement 2004 Meeting Schedules identifying dates when meetings will be held at Public Works during the City Hall remodel and an updated 2004 Liaison/Assignment Sheet changed to include Ron Harding as Mayor Pro-Tem and the correct SWAC meeting time/day.
