06-22-10 MinutesYELM CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING TUESDAY, JUNE 22, 2010 MINUTES Mayor Harding called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: Don Miller Joe Baker, Bob Isom. Mike McGowan, Tracey Wood, John Thompson and Russ Hendrickson. 3. Agenda Approval 10-46 MOTION BY JOE BAKER APPROVING THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. CARRIED. 4. Special Presentations- none scheduled 5. Public Comment Eran Ben-Sirs of Yelm stated that he felt the comments that were made by a certain councilmember after he addressed the council with concerns about the concession/restrooms that were being constructed at Longmire Park were uncalled for and that he had been treated unfairly. He said he was entitled to his opinion during public comment. councilmember McGowan apologized to Mr. Ben-Sira for making him feel that way. councilmember Baker thanked Mr. Ben- Sira for expressing his comments and stated that the council welcomes comments from the community. 6. Consent Agenda Minutes - Regular, June 8, 2010, and Study Session, May 26, 2010 Payables -Checks 53752-53820, Totaling $273,987.52. 10-47 MOTION BY BOB ISOM APPROVING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS AS PRESENTED. CARRIED. 7. Public Hearing- none scheduled 8. New Business a. Resolution 512 Establishing the 2010 to 2015 Yelm Six Year Transportation Improvement Program Grant Beck explained that Resolution number 512 establishes the 2010-2015 Six Year Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) which is adopted annually. It is our six-year look ahead at projects that we believe will be funded within the next six years. The list is not in order of priority, but any project on the list is eligible for funding during the next funding season. Our Transportation Committee has reviewed the list and they recommend approval of the list, which is the same as last year since there were no new projects done in the city last year. 10-48 MOTION BY BOB ISOM AUTHORIZING MAYOR HARDING TO SIGN RESOLUTION NUMBER 512 ESTABLISHING THE 2010 TO 2015 YELM SIX YEAR TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. CARRIED. Page 1 of 2 9. Old Business -none scheduled 10. Mayor and City Council Reports Councilmember McGowan attended the Thurston County HOME Consortium meeting. Councilmember Wood attended the Transportation Policy Board and the Thurston County Solid Waste meeting. Councilmember Hendrickson attended his first Medic One meeting. Mayor Harding reminded council that he would be making the Regional Fire Authority appointments next week; the Nisqually Valley News will be doing a little story asking interested parties to contact City Hall.
