ORDINANCE N0. 483
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO TRAFFIC AND SPEED LIMITS WITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF YELM, ESTABLISHING A
SCHOOL ZONE AND AMENDING CHAPTER 10.16 OF THE YELM
MUNICIPAL CODE ACCORDINGLY
WHEREAS, the City of Yelm has annexed certain territory
containing streets and roads which are now public ways of the City
of Yelm; NOW THEREFORE,
The City Council of the City of Yelm, Thurston County,
Washington does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Yelm Municipal Code, Section 10.16.040 School zones
established is hereby amended by the addition of following:
C. There is hereby created and established a School Zone on
that portion of Mill Road S.E. within the city limits
extending from a line intersecting said road at the south
property line of Mill Pond School to a line intersecting
said road three hundred feet north of the north property
line of Mill Pond School.
Section 2. Yelm Municipal Code, Section 10.16.020 Maximum
limits is hereby amended by the addition of the following:
d. The speed limit for that portion of Mill Road lying within the
corporate limits of the City of Yelm along that portion of
Mill Road S.E. extending from a line intersecting State
Highway 507 to the city limit located at the south property
line of the Mill Pond School is hereby set at twenty-five ( 25 )
miles per hour except for that portion which has been created
and established as a school zone with a speed limit of twenty
(20) miles per hour when so posted.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be effective on October 6,
1993, being a date not less than five (5) days after publication.
ADOPTED this 22nd day of September , 1993.
