RESOLUTION NUMBER 516
AUTHORIZING THE USE OF CITY PROPERTY FOR THE PLACEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A
COMMUNITY READER BOARD SIGN PURSUANT TO SECTION 15.24.197 YMC BY THE YELM
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
WHEREAS, Section 14.24.197 YMC states that signs may be installed by the Yelm
Chamber of Commerce on property owned by a civic organization or the City of Yelm or
on property subject to an easement benefitting the Chamber of Commerce-, and
WHEREAS, the City of Yelm owns property located at the northeast corner of the
intersection of Killion Road and Yelm Avenue West; and
WHEREAS, this property is street right -of -way that is unused with the exception of
underground utilities since the realignment of the Killion Road intersection; and
WHEREAS, this property is appropriate for the location of a community electronic
reader board sign pursuant to Section 15.24.197 YMC; and
WHEREAS, the Yelm City Council desires to allow the Chamber to construct and
maintain a community reader board sign on the Killion Road property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Yelm
that the Yelm Chamber of Commerce is hereby authorized to construct and maintain a
community electronic reader board sign on City right -of -way located northeast of the
intersection of Killion Road and Yelm Avenue West as shown on Exhibit A to this
Resolution.
