05-12-04 MINUTES YELM CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES REGULAR MEETING WEDNESDAY, MAY 12, 2004 Call to Order . 1. Mayor Rivas called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll Call . 2. Present: Don Miller, Joe Baker, Ron Harding and Pat Fetterly Excused: Bob Isom Agenda Approval . 3. 04-45 MOTION BY RON HARDING, SECONDED BY JOE BAKER APPROVING THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. CARRIED. Special Presentations – None 4. Public Comment 5. Tabatha Jensen, Yelm High School Student, requested information about the Canal Road Loop location. She was provided with a map showing the location of the proposed roadway. Consent Agenda . 6. 04-46 MOTION BY PAT FETTERLY, SECONDED BY JOE BAKER APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS AS PRESENTED. CARRIED. Public Hearings – None 7. New Business – None 8. Old Business – None 9. Mayor and Council Reports and Initiatives and Board/Commission 10. Business . Councilmember Miller attended the Yelm Chamber of Commerce meeting. Councilmember Baker attended a SWAC meeting. Disposal costs for refrigerators and tires will be increasing and florescent lighting/mercury disposal was discussed. He also toured the facility and recommended tours. Councilmember Harding attended an IT meeting where discussion concerned an upcoming public hearing about proposed route changes. Other meetings included TRPC discussion concerned a new population and forecasting committee and the first Yelm Transportation Committee meeting where discussion concerned prioritizing street projects for the Six Year Transportation Yelm City Council Minutes Page 1 of 2 ab\cc\2004\05-12-04 Improvement Program. The Prairie Day’s float planning meeting concerned a th possible 80 anniversary float/parade theme. Tabitha Jensen expressed an interest in working on the city float. Councilmember Fetterly attended the Rosemont dedication and Yelm Chamber of Commerce meeting. She also met with Shelly Badger to discuss the fire contract negotiations prior to the meeting with fire district representatives. Mayor Rivas read a proclamation honoring Jim Eisenhardt as he retires from 27 years with Yelm Community Schools. Mayor Rivas will attend an assembly on May 21 and present the proclamation to Mr. Eisenhardt. Executive Session – None 11. Correspondence 12.
