ORDINANCE N0. 417
AN ORDINANCE providing for payment of compensation to the
Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Yelm
and repealing Ordinance No. 151, 213A, 247 and 307 and Yelm
Municipal Code Section 2.20.040 in their entirety and
amending Section 2.04.030 and 2.04.040 of the Yelm Municipal
Code.
WHEREAS, Section 35A.12.070 of the Revised Code of Washington provides
for compensation of the mayor and councilmembers as fixed by ordinance
which may be revised from time to time, and;
WHEREAS, any increase in compensation attaching to an office shall not
be applicable to the term then being served by the incumbent if such
incumbent is a member of the city legislative body fixing his own
compensation or as mayor in a mayor - council code city casts a
tie - breaking vote relating to such ordinances: Provided, that if the
mayor of such a city does not cast such a vote, his salary may be
increased during his term of office.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Yelm Municipal Code Section 2.04.030 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
The mayor shall be paid a monthly sum established by the City of Yelm
Budget Ordinance for services rendered in such capacity.
SECTION 2. Yelm Municipal Code Section 2.04.040 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Each member of the city council shall be paid a monthly sum
established by the City of Yelm Budget Ordinance for services rendered
in such capacity.
SECTION 3. The following are repealed in their entirety:
City of Yelm Ordinance No. 151, City of Yelm Ordinance No. 213A, City
of Yelm Ordinance No. 247 and City of Yelm Ordinance No. 307 and Yelm
Municipal Code Section 2.20.040.
Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective five (5) days
from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law.
Passed by the city council and approved by the mayor of
Yelm, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof this
