966 Amend 9.28 Firearm Possession and MinorsCITY OF YELM
ORDINANCE NO. 966
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Yelm, Washington, relating to the
amendment of Chapter 9.28.070 of the Yelm Municipal Code relating
to firearms and minors.
WHEREAS, Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Section 9.41.290
preempts the entire field of firearm regulation, within the boundary of the
state; and
WHEREAS, Yelm Municipal Code Section 9.28.070 is more restrictive
than RCW 9.41.042 relating to minors and firearms; and
WHEREAS, City Council wishes to amend Chapter 9.28.070 by repealing
Section 9.28.070; and
WHEREAS, the Yelm City Council wishes to amend Chapter 9.28.070 of
the Yelm Municipal Code to adopt by reference, RCW 9.41.042; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
1. Section 9.28.070 is amended to read as follows:
9.28.070 Children — Permissible Firearm Possession — Adoption of State statute.
All of Chapter 9.41.042 RCW, as it exists now or as hereafter amended, relating to
possession of firearms by persons under the age 4 eighteen years is hereby adopted
by reference as though fully set forth in this chapter.
